NSW Value of Advice Award 2013 (Charter Financial Planning)
Elliot was awarded the NSW Charter of Financial Planning Value of Advice Award in 2013. He won the award for the professional services and assistance he provided to a former police officer who had suffered Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome.
Due to their illness Elliot’s client was unable to continue employment as a police officer. This resulted in significant financial stress. Elliot was asked to review the client’s financial circumstances and quickly identified a lump sum saving of $70,000 and a tax benefit. This translated into a hefty $500,000 saving over the client’s life expectancy. More importantly, the advice allowed Elliot’s client to get on with living their life without financial burden. The advice dramatically changed the client’s financial outlook. Elliot feels proud to have been able to help the client and make such a difference to their future financial wellbeing.
“I can only offer praise and gratitude to Elliot. I was referred to him at a time when my life was in turmoil. Elliot helped me make important decisions and has enabled me to get on with my life with a secure outlook, both financially, and personally. I cannot thank Elliot enough for everything he has done for me. He went above and beyond the call of duty. I would absolutely recommend Elliot. Thank you for everything you have done for me.”
Elliot grew up in the Hunter region. He attended school in East Maitland and was elected as School Captain of Maitland Grossman High School (MGHS) in 2001.
Elliot still lives in the area with his partner Karyn. Elliot and Karyn enjoy spending weekends renovating their home. They enjoy travelling and have attended a number of Financial Planning conferences both overseas and in Australia.
Elliot also enjoys bike riding in his spare time. Not one to shy away from a challenge Elliot, and his friends, embarked on a 30 day cycling expedition of Tasmania in 2009. This provided Elliot the opportunity to take in much of Tasmania’s awe inspiring scenery and conquer some of its biggest hills. Part of the fun was indulging in some of the local hospitality at the end of a hard day’s ride.
Elliot is an AFL fan and barracks for the Collingwood Magpies. Melbourne weekends away to support his team are high on his to do list.
